ICERP 2006
International Conference and Exhibition on Reinforced Plastics 2006, the third event in the ICERP series was held at Chennai Trade Centre, Chennai during Feb.23-25.2006.
Inaugural Function
The inaugural function was held at the convention centre on 23rd Feb. 2006 at 4.30 PM, Mr.Peter Valeth, Honorary Treasurer, FRP Institute gave the welcome address and Mr.R.Ramesh, Chairman gave the Presidential address. Mr. Gary A Nieman, Vice President and Managing Director of Owens Corning Composites Solutions Business (Asia Pacific) was the chief guest of the inaugural function and he also the presented keynote address. Mr.Gary Nieman spoke about eight qualities that have to be followed to stay in the composites business. Mr.Pradip Thakkar, President, FRP Institute, read out a citation on late Mr.Y.J.Jayakumar and one minute silence was observed in mark of respect to late Mr.Jayakumar and the citation was presented to Mrs P.J.Jayakumar by the chief guest. Vote of thanks was given by Dr.A.Selvam, Executive secretary, FRP Institute.
Prof. Hota Ganga Rao, Director, Constructed Facilities Centre, West Virginia University and also the Vice Chairman, International Advisory board of FRP Institute inaugurated the exhibition by formal cutting of tape and visited the exhibition stalls along with the chief guest.
A cultural programme and later a banquet dinner both sponsored by Owens corning India Ltd was held at the convention centre.
Exhibition
Out of the total 138 available stalls 133 stall have been booked by various companies. There were 47 Indian companies that have booked 111 stalls and 18 foreign companies booked 22 stalls. The total number of companies participated is 65.
